You want to hear God more, you want to develop discernment, you want to draw nearer etc… God wants these things for you too. Settle that in your spirit: There is nothing hidden in the Kingdom of God that God does not want to reveal to you.
In fact, Luke 8:10 says, and it is Jesus speaking so you are hearing it right from the horse’s mouth, “The knowledge of the secrets / mysteries of the kingdom of God has been given to you.” The door is open. You can access it. Internalize that!
However, there is no shortcut to getting there. You have to spend time with God. This calls for SACRIFICE and DISCIPLINE, and your hunger for God will determine what you are willing to do to spend that time with him. It will never be easy because even the devil is always fighting you on this. And valid excuses to avoid time with God are a dime a dozen. So you have to purpose that you will meet with God and then do it. Period.
I wake up at 4 am so I can spend time with God because just like you, there is too much waiting to take up the hours of my day. But I have learned that this is the most important thing that I can do. I want more of God. I want to hear clearer. I want to operate in the gifts of the Holy Ghost at a greater dimension. I want to have more divine encounters with God. I want my discernment to be extremely sharp, and none of this can happen unless I spend time with God. So I must.
You must find time to be with God, no two ways about it. This is discipline and sacrifice. There are no secrets to it and no shortcuts. So set a time that works for you and bear in mind that it will not be easy. Plan to spend at least 30 minutes with God each day and enjoy your quiet time.
